Congratulations to Brother Grant Barclay, who joined the Institution and was initiated into the Orange Degree at the monthly meeting of L.O.L. 842, on 6th July. We hope Grant enjoys his time as a Brother in the Orange Institution.




                  Officers Election Night at L.O.L. 842                      

Tuesday 4th May was election night for the Brethren of The Somme Memorial Loyal Orange Lodge 842. The following elections took place:

                                           Chaplain

Bro. Allen Williams was elected and replaces Bro. Jim Lyne

                                          Secretary

Bro. Ian McFarland was elected and replaces Bro. Colin Smyth

                                             Tyler

Bro. Colin Campbell was elected and replaces Bro. John Fowler

              
            All other Officers remain the same for the next year.


Congratulations go to the newly elected Brothers who will take up their positions on 12th July. Many thanks to those vacating these positions, after many years of hard work and dedication to L.O.L 842.

        


           Grand Lodge of England Annual Sessions  2010


To celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the King James Version of the Holy Bible, the Grand Lodge of England, has commissioned a commemorative Jewel for the occasion.

The design of this Jewel is specifically aimed to celebrate the event,so therefore does not refer to the Institution within the design. This makes this Jewel suitable for all occasions and as a gift to all those who share our belief in the One True Bible, but may not wish to publicly support our Institution.

To coincide with the 400th anniversary, we have commissioned a total of 400 Jewels, 300 will be of the standard pin on design, and a further 100 Special Edition ribbon mounted Jewels to be worn around the neck.

Plain Purple Degree

Congratulations to Brother William King, who advanced to the Purple Degree at the monthly meeting of L.O.L. 842, on 2nd March.

Bro. John Adams H.D.G.M. 

Congratulations are due to LOL 842 Treasurer, Brother John Adams, who has been awarded the position of H.D.G.M. by the Grand Orange Lodge of England. John has been rewarded for many years of hard work within the Institution and is the H.D.G.M for Plymouth District.
